Project Description

Film based on a poem by Qatari poet Souad Al-Kuwari, with visuals inspired by the landscape of the Gulf - the sand and the sea - and the diverse voices that make up the region.

About the Director

Erika is a media artist and producer with an extensive background in community based media projects and social justice. She has been an active member of the creative community since moving to Doha, Qatar, having recently performed a live dome show at Mutek Dubai and exhibiting Queen of the Mountains film at Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria. She has produced several fulldome films, which have been officially selected for international film festivals. Erika works in immersive media, specifically dome format, live audio-visual performance, using media as a tool for social change. Prior to moving to Doha, Qatar, she was in Philadelphia for 10 years, where she taught animation inside prisons to produce 20 short animation films. She is also a recording artist with groups ALKA, on VeryRecords and Aux88 on Puzzlebox Records in Detroit.
